Injection Strategies

IET’s patented injection trailer is built for the efficient delivery of remedial compounds to the subsurface in a controlled and safe manner. When paired with our in-house designed injection tooling, the result is the ability to introduce material into a variety of soil types. Both liquid and air feed systems result in the ability to target various soil types effectively that includes but is not limited to: sand, clay, silt, fractured rock and any combination of these. Its on-board components offer the controlled delivery of high viscosity mixtures at varied pressures and flow rates. These components include conical mixing tanks, generator, air compressor, air dryer/cooler, bulk water and air tanks, safety shower and eyewash station.

Cleveland Development Project

The remediation site is located in Cleveland, Ohio. The site contained soil and groundwater impacted by trichloroethene (TCE), cis-1,2-dichloroethene (cis-1,2-DCE), vinyl chloride, and hexavalent chromium. The in-situ injection program targeted these compounds through the use of compressed nitrogen and a solution of EHC-M, calcium propionate, and an oxygen scavenger. Read more…
