About Auger Drilling
Auger drilling is one of the most widely used methods for shallow to intermediate-depth environmental investigations in unconsolidated soils. IET operates both hollow-stem auger (HSA) and solid-stem auger equipment. The hollow-stem design is particularly valuable for environmental work — it allows soil samples to be collected through the center of the auger stem while advancing the borehole, and permits monitoring well casing and screen to be installed without removing the augers from the ground.
