Dual-Technology Materials Package

An environmental consulting firm contracted IET for materials supply supporting a dual-zone remediation program. The large-scale dual-technology program demonstrated IET's capability to deliver extensive materials packages for complex multi-zone remediation projects. The project strategically addressed both unsaturated soil zones requiring nano-scale EZVI treatment and saturated groundwater zones requiring traditional enhanced reductive amendments, showcasing IET's expertise in customized remediation solutions.

Unsaturated Soils - Area A

• EZVI (17% concentration): 5,121 gallons of high-concentration nano-scale treatment
• Emulsified zero-valent iron particles designed for unsaturated zone mobility
• Advanced delivery system for vadose zone contamination

Groundwater & Saturated Soils

• EHC (Enhanced Hydrogen Release): 22,400 lbs of controlled-release hydrogen donor
• Zero Valent Iron: 24,640 lbs of micro-scale iron for chemical reduction
• Vitamin B2: 46,825 g supporting microbial dehalogenation pathways
• Vitamin B12: 6,745 g essential cofactor for reductive dechlorination
• Yeast Extract: 1,680 lbs comprehensive protein and nutrient source
• Hydrolyzed Kelp: 4,928 lbs high-quality organic substrate
• Calcium Propionate: 11,200 lbs long-term electron donor
• Sulfite: 1,680 lbs oxygen scavenger
• Nutrient Package: 1,680 lbs complete microbial amendment
