Enhanced Bioremediation
Eaton Facility Groundwater Treatment
Sanford, North CarolinaNovember 2025
Project Overview
IET executed a large-scale enhanced bioremediation program at the former Eaton manufacturing facility in Sanford, NC for AESI. This comprehensive project targeted both shallow and downgradient groundwater contamination using a multi-reagent approach combining Zero Valent Iron (ZVI), enhanced reductive dechlorination substrates, and specialized nutrients for aggressive biological treatment.
Treatment Approach
Provect-IR & ERD
17,568 lbs total of enhanced reductive substrates for biological treatment
Zero Valent Iron (ZVI)
7,390 lbs for enhanced reductive dechlorination
Specialized Nutrients
Vitamin B2 (52,260g), Red Yeast Rice (111,191g), Vitamin B12 (3,764g) for microbial enhancement
Chemical Additives
500 lbs each of sodium sulfite and nutrients for optimal microbial conditions
