Geological Considerations in Ohio
Ohio's geology features glacial till deposits overlying sedimentary bedrock — primarily limestone, shale, and sandstone. The northern Ohio Lake Erie plain has lacustrine clays and beach deposits. The central and western areas feature flat-lying bedrock with thin glacial cover. Eastern Ohio's unglaciated hill country has exposed sandstone and shale. The Cincinnati area features interbedded limestone and shale with productive but vulnerable aquifers.

Regulatory Compliance in Ohio
IET works with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) under the state's Voluntary Action Program (VAP), the Brownfields program, and the Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR). Our team is experienced with Ohio EPA's Voluntary Action Program requirements, including the covenant-not-to-sue and the technical standards for site characterization and remediation.
